102 Piece Sterling Silver Flatware Set Made By Reed & Barton Francis I

Included here are 102 pieces of Reed & Barton sterling silver flatware in the Francis I pattern. This ornate Renaissance-inspired pattern was designed by Ernest Meyer and introduced in 1907. Inspired by the Baroque metalwork of Benvenuto Cellini, the pattern features an ornate, tip-heavy handle decorated with detailed scrollwork, leaves, blossoms, and fruit. The place setting pieces in this set have the old Reed & Barton hallmark (depicting lion, eagle and the letter "R") which was revised in 1950, so the set dates from sometime between 1907 and 1950. Some of the serving pieces are newer. Included are 12 place settings containing 7 pieces each (84 pieces total), plus 12 extra teaspoons, and 6 serving pieces. Place settings include dinner fork, salad fork, knife, butter knife, teaspoon, soup spoon and iced tea spoons. Serving pieces include carving knife, carving fork, and three serving spoons. Dinner knives and carving knife have stainless steel blades. Set is clean and ready for use. Lengths of selected pieces are as follows: dinner knife, 9 5/8"; dinner fork, 7 3/4"; carving knife, 13.5"; carving fork, 11.25. Most pieces carry an "R" monogram on the undersides of the handles. Included is an old velvet-lined case which is not original to the set. It has damages to the top and sides which were repaired with heavy tape, but the interior is intact. The case measures roughly 24" by 12" by 4".
